Geschmacksfragen: Roufaida

Your current favourite Song?
“Bunny Is A Rider” by Caroline Polachek. Pure ear candy! It gives me an immediate physical response, an irresistible need to move.
Your current favourite record?
Lil Simz’s latest album, Lotus, is on repeat. It’s incredibly honest and bold. A versatile, fearless sounding record. Impossible to fit into a box.
Your favourite place?
The city of Tangier. My moroccan home away from home. There’s something magnetic about its energy. The people, the sea, the mountains.
Your favourite drink?
Fresh ginger tea, preferably stacked with lemon, orange, and mint. My go-to healthy option on tour. Great for the voice and for grounding myself.
Your favourite food?
Moroccan lemon chicken with green olives and potato fries. It’s the first Moroccan dish I ever learned to make, and still the one I make best.
What you’d like to read about yourself but hasn’t been written about you yet?
I’d like to be written about without being framed as “the other.” In Western media, there’s often an orientalist gaze. I’m curious what it would feel like to read about myself from a perspective free of that lens.
Thank you for the Answers!
