Geschmacksfragen: Sports

November in Zürich.

Your current favourite Song?

CALE: Tomorrow Never Knows, forever. It’s just always hits me when I listen to it. One of the first uses of sampling and looping, which is largely how I write, how most people write nowadays, so it’s like this God that I worship and give thanks to every morning.

Christian: My current favourite is a song called “Golden Retriever” by GENTS a duo from Copenhagen that I discovered randomly on a playlist. I was immediately drawn in by the super dry vocal. The song leans more organic, and it feels like a slightly different sound for them. I’m a new fan, but I’m fully on board.

Your current favourite record?

CALE: Screamadelica by Primal Scream. A buddy showed it to me recently and I can’t get enough of it. I just love the electronic house vibe fused with a Britpop / Rolling Stones vibe. I have two wolves inside me. One wants to listen to electronic music and the other wants to listen to the classics. This album gives me both and I haven’t heard anything else like it.

Christian: New year, new me. I’ve been waking up early and getting outside for easy runs, and I’ve had Justice’s Hyperdramaon repeat. It’s instant musical caffeine.

Your favourite place?

CALE: A pub in Tulsa called Bishop Quigley. It’s 90% of the time where me and my buds meet up. We’ll have a Guinness, some curry, maybe some fish maybe some chips, and definitely a laugh or two.

Christian: Right now, it’s the studio. We’re rehearsing for our world tour, and it feels really good to be working. We finished the record over a year ago, so finally getting the chance to play these songs live is exciting.

Your favourite drink?

Cale: Guinness, because that drink brings me and my buds together.

Christian: I’ve been drinking mushroom coffee an adaptogen and nootropic blend almost every morning for nearly 10 years. I got on the wave early. I like it because the caffeine isn’t as high as a cup of drip coffee, so I don’t get the jitters. Not sure if it’s actually making me more “sharp and focused,” but time will tell.

Your favourite food?

CALE: Cheeseburger. It’s gotta be a cheeseburger. It might be cooler if I pretended to prefer some sort of delicate dish like Coq au Vin (which I do love) but my last meal is gonna be a cheeseburger with fries and a side of ranch.

Christian: Bread. Sourdough, baguette, croissant. I love bread.

What you’d like to read about yourself but hasn’t been written about you yet?

CALE: my love for Guinness and cheeseburgers.

Christian: Our new record, coming out February 20th, was self-produced by Cale and me. I’m really proud of how it came together, and I hope it opens the door for us to start producing for other artists. Hit us up.

Thank you for the Answers!
