Geschmacksfragen: Welsh Wolf

Sagt euch der Name Paul Freeman irgendwas? Vermutlich nicht. Und vermutlich dürfte auch seine Band Welsh Wolf den meisten von euch noch nicht geläufig sein. Aber ihr kennt alle Musik, bei der er maßgeblich beteiligt war. Unter anderem für Robbie Williams, Meat Loaf, Mark Owen und vielen mehr hat er als Songwriter gearbeitet. Mit James Blunt, The Who, Joe Cocker, Chris Isaak und vielen mehr hat er schon als Musiker zusammengearbeitet. Anfang Juni ist jetzt die eigene EP „A Voyeur’s Dream“ des in Wales geborenen und in Nashville lebenden Musikers erschienen. Falls noch nicht gehört, solltet ihr das unbedingt nachholen. Aber erst, wenn ihr unsere Geschmacksfragen mit ihm gelesen habt.

Your current favourite Song?

My favourite new song is “Devotion” by a band called Sunday (1994). I really love this band and this song in particular because it reminds me of something I was listening to when I first started playing the guitar. They’re really nostalgic sounding and I particularly love the lyrics on this one. They paint a real cool picture.

Your current favourite record?

Favourite record at the moment is still “Romance” by Fontaines D.C. It came out last year but I can’t stop listening to it. It has all the swagger and bravado that I love about British rock and roll and kind of took over what Kasabian used to do. I’m also obsessed with Sam Fender’s latest “People Watching”. He has captured a really beautiful view of the UK right now.

Your favourite place?

My favourite place at the moment is the backyard of my house in Nashville. It’s so green and peaceful. I love to sit out here with the guitar and play while the birds sing. It’s a beautiful little slice of heaven:)

Your favourite drink?

Favourite Drink at the moment is a Margarita but I think that’s just because summer has kicked in. Usually my go to is a Manhattan. Anyone that knows me well will tell you that my first drink after finishing a gig will always be a Manhattan.

Your favourite food?

Currently my favourite food is Tacos. There’s a little place called Red Headed Stranger near my house in Nashville that I love to walk to with the dog and sit and eat and watch the world go by:)

What you’d like to read about yourself but hasn’t been written about you yet?

Something no one has said about me..??
Hmm, I guess I’ve never really read anything about how much I love playing Golf. It’s my absolute favourite pastime when I’m not writing or playing music. I’ve played my whole life and was taught by my grandparents. I think part of why I love it is that it keeps me connected to them in some way.
