Geschmacksfragen: Nicklas Sahl
Aus dem dänischen Kopenhagen kommen diesmal unsere Geschmacksfragen von Singer-Songwriter Nicklas Sahl. Der hat letzte Woche, am 19. September, seine Neue Single „Love Of My Life“ veröffentlicht. Seinen Durchbruch hat er mit seinen, mehrfach platinveredelten Hits, „Four Walls“, „Planets“ oder „New Eyes“ weit über die Grenzen Dänemarks geschafft. Gespielt hat er hier auch schon beim Reeperbahn Festival, im ZDF, als Support für Tina Dico, Max Giesinger oder Michael Schulte. Jetzt könnt ihr ihn aber erstmal auch mit unseren Fragen etwas besser kennenlernen.

Your current favourite Song?
“By This Time Tomorrow” by Tom Odell. I’ve been a big fan of Tom’s for a long time, but only recently dug into his catalog. Then I stumbled upon this song. It’s so heartbreaking and sad, but the melodies are so beautiful that it still feels uplifting.
Your current favourite record?
“Corner of the Sky” by Rhys Lewis. There’s something about Rhys and his music that just gives me a feeling of being safe and understood as a person. I can always see myself in Rhys’ songs. It’s a very strange and amazing thing, really. It’s mostly the lyrics for me, I think. The album is full of great, down-to- earth, and relatable stories. The song “Simple” is a masterpiece. Forever an all-time favorite for me.
Your favourite place?
My aunt’s summer house in the northern part of Denmark. We often went there during the summer holidays when I was a child – and we still do. My aunt and uncle are amazing people, and there’s always a cozy vibe around them with card game nights and nice, long walks by the beach. Such a beautiful place, with dune landscapes and the always wild western ocean. Sometimes, if I’m stressed or feeling sad, I close my eyes and this is the place I imagine to calm myself down.
Your favourite drink?
My newest drink obsession is those weird Asian aloe vera lemonades. Can’t remember what they’re called, but for some reason I really like them. They contain small pieces of aloe vera. Sounds nasty – tastes great.
Your favourite food?
I’m a big fan of pastry (bakery products), especially cardamom buns. We have so many amazing bakeries in Copenhagen, and a place like ‘Flere Fugle’ serves a breathtaking cardamom bun. People stand in line for this stuff – seriously, try it!
What you’d like to read about yourself but hasn’t been written about you yet?
Good question! Many ways to answer this one. I’ll answer it from a dreaming perspective. The small town I grew up in has a magazine/newspaper called Favrskov Posten. My mom collects all the articles where they mention me, which they’re kind enough to do now and then when something cool happens in my career. One day, I hope my mom can read about how I’m going on a Europe tour in a nightliner bus with my band. That’s a big dream of mine.
Thank you for the Answers!
