Geschmacksfragen: Rio Kosta

Mike Del Rio und Kosta Galanopoulos, beide Multiinstrumentalisten, Songwriter und Produzenten aus Los Angeles und zusammen die Band Rio Kosta, haben am 18. Juli ihr Debüt-Album „Unicorn“ rausgebracht. Mit inzwischen 3 Millionen Streams und 500.000 monatlichen HörerInnen allein auf Spotify haben sie sich eine große Fangemeinde aufgebaut. Nachdem sie schon für unter anderem Kylie Minogue, Selena Gomez, Eminem und viele andere gearbeitet haben, stehen sie nun mit ihrer eigenen Musik im Vordergrund. Your current favourite Song?

KG: No such thing. But right now.. I’m really deep in this song “Caution” by The Wailers

MDR: I’m currently attempting to become a “morning person” and Francis Bebey’s “Forrest Nativity” is a lovely way to bring in the day .

Your current favourite record?

KG: I’ve been enjoying this Harold Budd record a lot.. “The Pavilions of Dreams.”

MDR: I’ve been loving this band Black Savage and their self titled album. Have also been listening to a lot of Alan Watts and all this random remixes of his lectures.

Your favourite place?

KG: The beaches in South Florida have always been on my mind.
MDR: Today I’m feeling a bit homesick so I will say NYC.

Your favourite drink?

KG: Piña Colada
MDR: also A Piña Colada ( this is why Ko & I are friends). Why? It’s a transformative beverage, an experience that’s both regal and earthy simultaneously. Everything is ok and everyone’s on vacation with a Piña Colada in your hand.

Your favourite food?

KG: Caribbean.. Chicken, rice, black beans, chutney and plantains.
MDR: Pasta and sauce. Do I need to explain this? Nothing hits the soul and the body quite like vodka sauce and rigatoni.

What you’d like to read about yourself but hasn’t been written about you yet?

KG: Surprise me.
MDR: We all love and need a little respect.
