Geschmacksfragen: Sandra Kolstad

Die Norwegerin Sandra Kolstad hat am 15. März ihr mittlerweile siebtes Album „Soft Hard“ veröffentlicht. Mit ihren Singles war sie schon das ein oder andere Mal in unserer Neuen Musik Rubrik dabei. Bekannt wurde sie in der Vergangenheit überwiegend mit elektronischer Musik, auf ihrem Neuen Album kehr sie aber zu ihrem ursprünglichen Instrument, dem Klavier, zurück. Entstanden ist das Album unter anderem mit dem dänischen Künstler Asbjørn Terkelsen und aufgenommen unter anderem auch mit den Schlagzeugern des Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra. Falls noch nicht passiert, solltet ihr das unbedingt mal anhören. Jetzt gibts hier erstmal unsere Geschmacksfragen mit ihr.

Your current favourite Song?

I’m listening a lot to a song called Layers by Little Dragon and April+VISTA. But I also have to admit that my new single Things is a favourite right now – although I usually don’t listen to my own music at all.

Your current favourite record?

I’m very fascinated by James Blake’s latest, Playing Robots into Heaven.

Your favourite place?

My home! We just moved to a house by the seaside right outside of Oslo. It’s a life long dream that’s become reality. I feel very grateful and have to pinch my arm every morning when I wake up and see the ocean.

Your favourite drink?

Right now: Coffee. Just because I’m so tired after months of darkness in Norway.

Your favourite food?

I love food and it’s hard to pick one favourite. But my friend the Norwegian artist Ingrid Olava recently cooked me some grilled chicken in home made pita bread and some hot sauce and grilled vegetables that was absolutely heavenly and that I would have for breakfast lunch and dinner everyday if I was only as gifted a cook as her.

What you’d like to read about yourself but hasn’t been written about you yet?

I would like to read about how I have explored the piano in new ways, combining it with my electronic practice – ans hopefully I will read about just that quite soon, because that’s what my new record is trying to do.
