Geschmacksfragen: JOA

Diese Woche kommen unsere Geschmacksfragen aus Norwegen. Und zwar von der wunderbaren 22-jährigen Alt-Pop-Newcomerin JOA aus Oslo. Die wird dieses Jahr noch ihre Neue EP „i’m a girl with feelings, baby!“ rausbringen. Nach ihrer Debüt-EP „Previous Problems“ und der Anfang 2026 erschienenden EP „Feelings You Don’t Say Out Loud“ ist das bereits ihre dritte Veröffentlichung. Ende Mai ist mit „Ghost Of Us“ der erste Vorgeschmack der Neuen EP erschienen, den wir euch in der Neuen Musik Rubrik schon vorgestellt hatten. Jetzt gibt es auch unsere Geschmacksfragen mit der Dame.

Your current favourite Song?

Lately, I’ve been obsessing over „Jeep“ by Kim Petras. Through her lyrics, she paints a beautiful picture of how chaotic love can feel. The song makes me feel all kinds of emotions at once. It’s sad and flirty at the same time. It feels nostalgic, even though it’s a brand-new song. I love how the production is so simple, yet it carries so much emotion.

Your current favourite record?

Currently, I’ve been listening to Golden Hour by Kacey Musgraves a lot. I discovered the record a while ago, but I always seem to come back to it. The more I listen to it, the more I notice all the little details she’s put into her lyrics. It’s such a calm album that invites me into her world in the most classy and effortless way.

Your favourite place?

There are so many beautiful places in the world, and still so many I’d love to visit. But I think one of my favourite places will always be Lillesand. My family is from there, so I’ve spent a lot of my summers there. It’s a small seaside town in southern Norway, and there’s something so peaceful about it. No matter where I travel, I think Lillesand will always feel like home and remain my favourite place to be 🙂

Your favourite drink?

Pepsi Max! Norway consumes around 9% of all the Pepsi Max produced globally, and I’m definitely part of that statistic! It’s a little concerning, but it really is that good haha.

Your favourite food?

My favourite food is ramen! I discovered it about three years ago, and to this day it’s still probably my favourite thing to eat. There’s a place in Oslo called Koie Ramen that makes the best ramen. The egg is perfect, the noodles are perfect, and the broth is perfect. I’d love to go to Japan one day and try an authentic bowl!

What you’d like to read about yourself but hasn’t been written about you yet?

When I make music or create an EP, I’m very focused on the visual side of things, and there’s usually a clear thread connecting everything. I’d love to read people’s thoughts on how they think the visuals and the music complement each other, and how one enhances the experience of the other!
