Geschmacksfragen: Blush Davis

Blush Davis hat schon einiges erlebt. Aufgewachsen auf der Insel Föhr, dann nach New York zum renommierten Lee Strassberg Institute wo sie sich eine Zeit lang der Schauspielerei widmete, dann nach Berlin, wo sie zunächst eine Karriere als Malerin anstrebte, aber dann zur Musik hingezogen wurde. 2018 ihre erste Single, damals noch unter einem anderen Namen, die hohe Wellen schlug. Im Anschluss war sie als Autorin für viele Hits wie von BTS, Glockenbach oder Bella Porch verantwortlich. Dieses Jahr hat sie dann endlich ihre Debüt-EP „No Room For Two“ für den 26. September angekündigt und wir sind froh, ihr unsere Geschmacksfragen stellen zu dürfen.

Your current favourite Song?

‘Don’t Go Breaking My Heart’ – It’s my go-to song for a good mood. It takes me back to my childhood when I used to dance to it around the house. Now, I can’t sit still when I hear it. Plus it’s the soundtrack to Ella Enchanted which is one of my favorite feel-good-movies to watch.

Your current favourite record?

Lately, I’ve been listening to ‘Melodrama’ by Lorde. The poetic aspect and emotional storytelling really get me. I love that it feels pure and imperfect and it felt so different from everything else I’ve heard when it came out.

Your favourite place?

Probably the beach on the island I’m from. It’s the most peaceful, calm, and beautiful place to me, plus I have so many memories attached to it. I also really love lakes—especially a particular one in New Hampshire in the US. I used to spend my weekends there as a teenager during my exchange year. I stayed with a host family whose house was by a beautiful lake. So I guess whenever I’m surrounded by water, I feel a strong sense of nostalgia and calm; it’s my safe space.
