Geschmacksfragen: Andrew Collberg

Your current favourite Song?

“Sports Men” by Haruomi Hosono. My good friend Andy from the band Star Parks turned me onto Hosono’s first album many years ago. Recently I’ve been relistening to his stuff as well as Yellow Magic Orchestra and looking into new music connected with them. This song (among many others) just sticks out as a total hit. The album it’s off of is really eclectic, love it.

Your current favourite record?

This is an instrumental album made by Astrobal, Nina Savary, Julien Gasc & Vincent Guyot. I’m quite a fan of the music they make in their respective solo projects. This is an overall great collaborative album that goes in some really great directions. Highly recommended.

Your favourite place?

No specific place. I grew up traveling a lot as a kid and then continued once I started touring with bands later on. It’s quite impossible to name one place because there are endless amazing places and I guess for me I’ve learnt that almost anyplace has its own greatness. That being said, since leaving the desert (Arizona) I’m really happy when I’m anywhere with sun and desert… but I’ll take sand and ocean as well.

Your favourite drink?

Black coffee, which needs no explanation.

Your favourite food?

Japanese, of any kind… but actually I’m kinda into almost all food genres. When I was younger and still living in the states I worked in kitchens for many years (fancy and not so fancy). I was already into food and cooking from a very early age so I really loved learning techniques and about food. I’m still very much into it and cook everyday when it’s possible… no favorite per se, but anything new and exciting!

What you’d like to read about yourself but hasn’t been written about you yet?

I think it’s an unanswerable question maybe… I would find it better that people write or say what they want. Good or bad, as long as it’s honest.

Thank you for the Answers!
