5 Fragen an Louise Lemón

Louise Lemón tauchte letztes Jahr schon abseits des Radars auf. Im Oktober erschien die erste Single „Thirst“ und seitdem wartet man auf ihre Debüt EP. Es wird gemunkelt, dass noch diesen Monat neue Titel erscheinen werden. Wie aufregend und ein Grund mehr euch Louise Lemón vorzustellen:

1. Who are you?

I am Louise Lemón. I’m making music, loving and living.

2. How would you describe yourself in 5 sentences?

I would say I’m a person who is strong yet sensitive. I like to indulge, I like passion and when things are on edge which I think is something that you can hear in my music. I always think about feelings, how we relate, I love to search my soul and then I try to be as honest as I can about it while writing. A cathartic process where things that are hard to handle turn around and become empowering after being put into words.

3. Tell me your latest news?

I played live in Stockholm in October at Teater Pero. After that I was heading to Los Angeles to record a new video for the next single release, which I am very excited about.

4. What kind of musicians do you look up to?

I look up to people who make music that derives from themselves, no matter what genre, people who search inside and then dare to show their peculiarities. Personal matters are always what other people relate to the most. Sound wise I’m always intrigued by ways of using instruments in just the right amount, regardless of it being smashing it up with ten distortion pedals or playing a soft chord in the exact right timing.

5. Your favourite album or song at the moment?

Right now I’m listening to Frank Ocean’s new album Blonde and especially the song “Solo” which is incredible with a really beautiful organ on it. I’m also very excited about Goats new album Requiem.

Louise Lemón, die Frau mit der Vorliebe für schwarze Schleier, kommt aus dem schönen Schweden und lebt aktuell im sonnigen Barcelona. Orttechnisch würde ich, als Außenstehender, nicht sagen, dass es ihre Musik beeinflusst. Ganz im Gegenteil kann man ihre Musik als Death Gospel beschreiben. Und genau diese Beschreibung machte mich neugierig, als ich zum ersten Mal „Thirst“ hörte.

Ja, „Thirst“ klingt eher düster, als hell. Das Video dazu strahlt auch nicht mit Helligkeit, sondern unterstützt die Stimmung des Songs. Louises Stimme hat etwas Tiefes, zwar nicht Kratzig, aber Verruchtes an sich. Ihre Musik ist intensiv und mir gefällt es, dass sie mit ihrer Stimme spielt. Mal klingt sie etwas sanfter, dafür ist die Musik ruppiger, und mal andersherum. Den Gospel höre nicht heraus, aber wer weiß, vielleicht kommt der ja noch auf ihrer „Purge EP“ zum Vorschein…

Ohne mich zu weit aus dem Fenster hinaus zu lehnen, gehe ich mal davon aus, dass man von Louise Lemón 2017 noch etwas Hören wird!
